Easiest Chicken Dinner! TROP FACILE!

As many of you know my idea of dinner is a sandwich.  Or cereal.  Or half a bottle of wine.  That works for me.  However, seeing that I am dating a chef, I have started to feel like I need to step it up.  IT being my cooking.  I cant live with a chef and only be able to make brownies, cake, and burnt toast.

Maman's tomato tart

Comfort food. It depends on your family and what you grew up eating. My mom used to make a great casserole called Memere's casserole. Its like Shepherd's pie for the Americans.
While living in France A's mom, who I call Maman, made a tomato tart. It's simple, and almost like pizza. I have come to call it Maman's tart.

Chai Tea Concentrate

Fall is coming, I know it is.  I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of the cool weather, snuggly sweaters, and one of my two favorite drinks - Chai Tea.  I can drink it hot or cold.  I can drink it all day long.
There is something amazingly comforting about a hot cup of Chai while reading a book.  Or working.  Or spending time with friends enjoying the leaves changing, and a walk throughout the city.
On Sunday, when I went to LIC and to Foodcellar & Co, I ordered a Chai Tea Latte.  It was delicious.  It added to my perusal of all things delicious.  Cheese.  Baked Goods.  Beautiful flowers.  While ordering I asked if I could buy the concentrate in the store.  Obviously the answer was no, or I wouldnt be writing this post.
So upon returning home - I looked up recipes.  I took items from different recipes, and adapted them to this recipe.

My favorite recipe, for the design, was from a Lucy Knisley post I located... from 2009.  Check out her recipe hereI also LOVE her drawing for the recipe...

Berry Galette - Messy? Yes. Yummy? Biensur!

I first would like to thank Sallie from Texas Cottage for providing me with the idea of making a French galette.  I used her basic recipe, minus all the measuring, adding some extra butter, and voila - I had made my very first French galette.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread with maple glaze

I must first thank Bree with baked bree for posting this recipe.  I was busy doing nothing this morning, and decided to search Pinterest for a fun baked good, and this is how I found Bree.  Her recipes all look amazingly delicious, and the Cinnamon bread was a great start.

It was my first bread from scratch!

In the real family spirit of Labor Day, I am not only celebrating everyone who works, and their efforts to make this country great, but I am celebrating the end of Summer.  I hate it.  Its hot.  I live in air conditioning, and I hate being outside.  In the spirit of overzealously celebrating Fall, I made the below deliciousness.  I want cold weather sooner rather than later.  Thats for sure.
