Bad bloggers - we are so sorry

As you all know, Jade and I have not blogged lately.  We owe you all a huge apology.  I cant assume that you have been checking in on the blog each and every day, as much as I wish that were the case.

So many things have been going on in both of our lives that we just haven't had a moment.  And, as bad as an excuse as this may be, we still have to keep our day jobs.  We also know that keeping this blog going, and increasing our readership will take work, and it is work we are willing to do.  I promise.

Please check back with us in the next couple of days because we have so much to tell you, that I almost wish each day was 48 hours not just 24 hours.

We will be back... promise...

Until Next Time/A Bientot

Fun in NYC, from a Parisian's perspective

Biba has amazing perspective on everything business!  Check her out on American Woman in France (for some fun) or The Connection Queen (for business).  She is actually known as the Networking Queen.  Originally from France, she arrived in the US in 2003 and began her successful career in networking.  You really should check her out if are an entrepreneur, or just looking for some networking tips.

However, everyone has to have a little fun.  So after Eyenie gave us her amazing post regarding fun things to do in Paris, from the perspective of an American; we asked Biba for the other side.

Doughnut Plant - wow.

Let me start by saying I have yet to  physically GO to the Doughnut Plant.  And also, I've had to use photos from the website, because I havent been there.  That being said, this is on my NYC Bucket List for next weekend.  With the hubs of course.  However, I couldnt wait to tell you about the doughnuts for fear someone may be visiting NYC this week or next and MISSING OUT on the Doughnut Plant.

Casse graine : a new (useful) website

Girls' Night on Stone Street

Yesterday was a disgusting, rainy, freezing cold day here in NYC.  Luckily... girls' night had been planned with a few of my favorite sorority sisters.  The girls of VT Beta, Pi Beta Phi.  I was in a sorority while studying at UVM, and there is not enough space on this blog article to tell you how much I loved Pi Phi, the girls, and the experiences.
Anway, seeing as an evening of laughs (you'd have to know B, she can get the most angry person to laugh), gossip (who has seen who?  what happened to this one or that one?), and drinks were planned after a three day weekend; we all went to Ulysses'.
This is a typical pub, albeit HUGE, on Stone Street.  During the Summer the street is lined with tables and people beginning in the late morning to, well, early morning the next day.  And during the Winter, the bars themselves are packed.

Restaurant day (Paris & NYC)

Have you ever heard about Restaurant Day ?
I haven't until few days ago. Restaurant Day occurs tomorrow february 17th. It gives you the opportunity to open a one day restaurant wherever you want to (in the street, in your kitchen, in a truck, it's up to you..). Low prices and good mood are the only rules.

This food event was created in Finland and is exported to over twenty countries. Restaurant Day is held 4 times a year, so if you can not attend tomorrow, I will soon give you the date for May!

I have not tested the latest edition, but I intend to catch up tomorrow, I won't be cooking of course (not sure my mousse au chocolat light is enough to satiate passers) but will be tasting the dishes of amateur chefs located throughout Paris !

You can participatE, wherever you are!

Now will you create your own ephemeral restaurant tomorow?

A bientôt/Until next time

Top 10 things to do in Paris, from the eyes of an American (not Poulpy!)

As you all know I (Poulpy) have started to collaborate with the amazingly talented women of American Woman in France.  Its a blog that offers a wealth of knowledge for American women living in France.  Written from the perspective of an American woman currently living in France.  When I first began speaking with Biba Pedron, the networking queen, she informed me about this blog.  It started a great conversation not only business related, but life related.  Eyenie Schultz has a great perspective, and they both interview other women frequently.  They offer cultural books to learn the subtle nuances.  And of course, information on networking.

After I completed my piece regarding my first day in Grenoble (another piece coming this month!!!), I asked them for a favor.  Write a piece for Jadinou and I about their favorite places (top 10!!!) in Paris and NYC.  My thought is that you, our readers, are constantly hearing our points of view, why not someone else's???
